Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer

According to Gene, "When 'Freak' (from the forthcoming album, 'Monster') was being written, Lady Gaga got interested in singing on it. It espouses her emotions about being comfortable in your skin and all that stuff. Paul and Gaga were gonna sing it, and then finally I suggested Paul should sing it by himself. Gaga, in my estimation, is the only rock star out there, modern... She came backstage a few tours ago, before her meteoric rise, went to the shows, hung out with the kids in the front. They didn't know who she was, so she was there as a fan and then came backstage and told us about how she has Kiss parties where they all dress up as Kiss and run around" (Christa Titus - Billboard, 10/5/12). The piano on "Freak" is performed by Brian Whelan. Fans will remember that the band's debut album in 1974 included piano on "Nothin' to Lose" performed by Bruce Foster. Coincidental, perhaps, but a nice coincidence should the album be the final recorded work.
