Shandi

Paul Stanley, Vini Poncia

"Shandi" is a critically important song in the history of Paul Caravello and KISS. While it was a Paul Stanley composition released as a single in support of "Unmasked" (1980), Paul Caravello chose to perform the piece as part of his musical sampler that accompanied his KISS application. Simply singing along to the KISS studio recording Eric submitted this song, along with drum exhibitions accompanying "Torpedo Girl," Van Halen's "The Cradle Will Rock" and Kink's "You Really Got Me." The rest was history! Eric's audition tape surfaced in 2006, but for this album Eric's vocal has been isolated and paired with a new musical performance featuring Charles Sedlak on classical guitar and percussion and Benny Doro on keyboards. Benny and Marica Juell provide backing vocals. Marcia is a dance/pop singer/songwriter who came strongly recommended as a vocalist to the project. She'd used ProTools to add her vocal contribution in her home studio.
