Essentially, this song would see KISS covering their own song. During 1984, while Gene had been producing Wendy O. Williams, he had given this song, written with Mitch Weissman, to Wendy to record. By the time "Crazy Nights" was being recorded this was one of two songs from that earlier era that were considered for use, with the other being "It's My Life." According to Gene, the band recorded this song simply because he had always liked it and nothing more.
