The Return of the Space Bear

A bonus track was created for the iTunes edition of the album in the form of "Return of the Space Bear." The general idea was born out of a concept that Ace and Frank Munoz were working on for another song, "Skels." According to Ace, "The initial idea was that we were going to use sound bites to tell the story of me being chased in my Porsche by the cops and by flying saucers!!!! There's actually a demo I have with that concept but we thought it might go over people's heads (laughs), no pun intended" (Tim McPhate). Instead, Frank suggested that they recreate Ace's classic one-liners from his appearance on "The Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder" in 1979 rather than attempt to jump through the legal and financial hoops to license sound-bites from the original broadcast. Marrying those lines, with Frank playing the part of "Tom," to the "Space Bear" instrumental Ace had something that at least he found entertaining.
