KEY SINGLE! STRUTTER / 100,000 Years

Casablanca/Warner Bros. NEB-0015 (USA, 1974)
The final Warner Bros. distributed single and the hardest of the first 3 singles to find. The value of this single is hard to quantify, but copies often sell for more than $200 on the rare occasions they become available. As an additional point, the single was also the last Warner distributed Casablanca single using the "NEB" prefix. Copies seem to be misprinted "100,00 Years" in the majority of cases.

INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTION, "Bogart" Type 2 Label (1974-5)

Following the Warner Bros. Records split, around July 1974, the second type of blue "Bogart" style label with "Manufactured and distributed by Casablanca Records, Inc. text around bottom of label.

LET ME GO, ROCK 'N ROLL / (STEREO-MONO)

Casablanca NB-823DJ (USA, 1974)
The promotional version is far easier to find than the somewhat enigmatic regular release version, but seemingly more obscure than even the Warner distributed singles.
US Promotional Version

KEY SINGLE! LET ME GO, ROCK 'N ROLL / Hotter Than Hell

Casablanca NB-823 (USA, 1974)
The rarest of the early KISS singles, and nearly impossible to find with its original blue "Bogart" label. However, it definately does exist in this non-promo format and the cost may well be in excess of $500! The 1976 reissue comes in a couple of varieties, one with promintent "Allen Zentz" mastering etched into the matrix. Production "Bogart" single courtesy of the collection of Tom Shannon.

US Promotional Version

ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE / Getaway

ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE (LIVE) / (STUDIO)

Casablanca NB-850DJ (USA, 1975)
Promotional, but has the same tracks as the regular release version, just with a promo stamp. There are versions with the Stereo Live version on both sides.
US Promotional Version

ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE / (STUDIO)

Casablanca NB-850 (USA, 1975)
Because it was a hit. of sorts, this is a really common single. However, there are some varieties: Re-issue on the Type 3 "Bogart" label in late-1975/early-1976, and a later reissue on the "Filmworks" label. Oh, and other minor label variations.

INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTION, "Bogart" Type 3 Label (1976)

INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTION, "Casbah" Type 4 Label (1976-8)

Sometimes referred to as the "Camel" label. While this label type had essentially been replaced by 1977, some later issues do turn up that use the label.

FLAMING YOUTH / (STEREO-MONO)

Casablanca NB-858DJ (USA, 1976)
One of the rarer singles, though some come in picture sleeves. There is currently no evidenc that this single was ever released with a blue "Bogart" center-ring, but no copy has yet surfaced. And yes, Bob Ezrin's name is omitted from the song-writing credit on the promo and standard release version.
US Promotional Version

FLAMING YOUTH / God Of Thunder

Casablanca NB-858 (USA, 1976)
This single is pretty easy to obtain, even though it is the first KISS single to feature a picture sleeve. Here I go into pure KISS-geek mode: I've trawled many of the singles in the release codes surrounding the FY single. And the "Casbah" label starts turning up prior on singles sequentially to FY. That's not definitive, since release variances could mean that "Bogart" labels were used as primary stock. As has already been mentioned pressing plants may have had stock of different center-rings on hand and used it. I've also had a "New York Groove" single with a Casbah label. That's no biggie, just a cool happenstance. However, the "Casbah" Casablanca logo is subtley different from the "Bogart" version. Obiously in scale, but also execution. It was refined. The "o" swirl in the C (let alone the alignment of the "C" in releation to the rest of the characters. On the "Bogart" version all characters follow the same arc; on the "Casbah" the C is subset), the "a," the bottom of the "b", and the "l" were all fattened with the registration marca being added under the first "a." So... It is clear that the Casablanca logo on the picture sleeve of the single matches with the Casbah version, not the "Bogart," which to me points to intent. As previously stated, that doesn't mean that there aren't "Bogart" label versions out there waiting to be discovered (and I think it'd be totally cool to obtain one), particularly since the label type alignment would have fit on any of the three main center-rings.

I WAS MADE FOR LOVIN' YOU / Hard Times

Casablanca NB-983 (USA, 1979)
This single is very easy to obtain, considering it sold 1,000,000 copies. Hence, several variations. At 3:23, the single mix of "Hard Times" released as the B-side to "I Was Made For Lovin' You" is just 0:03 longer than the original album version of the song. While this difference is minor, the song fades out and ends on a single drum/guitar chord/note, similar to the manner with which a band ends a song live where a fade-out isn't possible. This feature is not present on the album version which simply fades out and ends.
