Notes:

"The Originals" was a special repackaging of the first three studio albums released only in Canada, Japan, and the United States. It included a set of six trading cards, a "Kiss Army" sticker, and booklet. Refer to original album issues for track-listings and details. The first printing of 250,000 copies sold-out, leading to the "Second Printing" which charted briefly in May/June 1977.

Chart Action:

Chart Peak (USA): #36 (9/25/76) with 17 weeks on charts. Other countries: CAN #54; JAP #8; SWE #50

RIAA/Sales:

"The Originals" was never certified by the RIAA. It's never been clear whether the individual album sales were simply added to those totals leading to the original album trilogy certifications in 1977. From the "hype" department: An Aucoin Management ad in Billboard (1/22/77) suggested that the whole 250,000 album run had sold-out over night, however internal Aucoin documentation suggests that just 166,406 copies had been shipped by December 1977.
